We finished half of the center of the 2nd quilt Gordon commissioned me to support him making. I never work from pattern or try to get a specific color. this has been a big learning curve for me… but we are moving along. and here is Gordon Kyle holding up his painting/cutout in front of […]
I traveled all over the place. 20,000 miles hitch hiking alone, 7 times from ocean to ocean. I travelled for a few years with an artist named Harold Schwan and that’s a whole nother story! But in the course of these journeys we spent some time in Ann Arbor Michigan. I met a guy who […]
This is almost all of the second part of the collection for Absolutely Art on Atwood Avenue. these are one sided velvet in 2 sizes that can be hand washed and machine dried. They are painted with procion fiber reactive dyes here in my studio at 1331 Dewey Court in Madison.
In the south we call distant relatives “kissin cousins” I was commissioned by my brother in law’s niece Ashley, the cousin of my niece Cydney to make a blankie for her first grandbaby coming soon. It’s a funny thing about blankies… they started off as a tithe to the newborns and have slowly turned […]
Well, here it is. and I guess I cannot say I am a purple a phobe any longer. It really is quite a magical shirt!
I am a purple-aphobe, I admit it. I don’t know how it happened but I came to hate purple. Maybe because it is the favorite color of many quilters and I am a poophead! I know! I read when I was in the fifth grade that purple was the favorite color of schitzophrenics […]
What a crazy geek-ified day I am having! John Nunnelly was here giving me a computer lesson. It often happens he skype’s his brother Luke who is a whomping mega geek who runs a company that does Search Engine Optimization to ask a question about this rinky dink little project we are working on and […]
When I am stuck I usually paint a happy sun face… it is a great icebreaker for my creativity! I painted this sweet quilt for my friend Gabriela from Transylvania who is expecting. She is here visiting San Miguel and is the most delightful and charming presence!
We ate at MiVida restaurant after the 2nd showing of Alex’s movie. Likely the best restaurant in san miguel. The chef made a sugar free desert for me… sort of a banana split without the ice cream! YUM!!!
After a huge rainstorm this afternoon we went up the hill to the house Gordon is renting to watch the sunset. We were granted a magnificent view.
